The data deriving from these applications should be given the same safe protection as the mainframe data. After an intensive two month preparation phase together with the project team from COMPAREX the Stadtwerke Hannover decided to implement Legato NetWorker as backup software. The main reason for that was, that via a special cloning procedure stored data can be mirrored to a second distant archiving system - very similar to the backup concept in the mainframe environment.
